My Goddess Series celebrates balance in our world, of right brain and left brain, warrior and nurturer. In creating these pieces I express my own search for balance in my life as I honor the synergy of the mythical goddess.

I created this series after reading two very impactful books, Dan Brown’s “The DaVinci Code”, and Leonard Schlain’s “The Alphabet vs the Goddess”. Schlain’s book in particular made me aware of the importance of what
Goddess energy represents, in our culture and in each of us as individuals.

The mythical Goddess, as the giver of birth and life, has helped to give my work new life at a time when I was feeling frustrated. Goddess Series pieces are named after goddesses from the mythology of cultures worldwide.

The original 5 pieces are named for “creator” goddesses.
The natural edged pieces remind me of an oyster’s shell, and are named for ocean goddesses.

A jewel hidden under the lid symbolizes the treasure that life reveals when we make the effort to look deeper within.
