Spaceship Hollow Vessel
Online Woodturning Instruction

View the video replay until September 30th

Learn how to design and hollow this more challenging form with fiery color!
Make it from straight grain wood, figured wood, or burl.

The Spaceship is a more challenging form to hollow.
Learn how to achieve a pleasing form, with or without a finial or pedestal. We’ll go through cutting and working with burls, twice-turning for a precise shape, sanding, and some options for reversing the vessel.

Hollowing a vessel is easy and low stress with a captured hollowing system. Get the consistent wall thickness that you want, every time.

Watch as I show you how to use a camera and a laser to see where the cutter is inside the form. No more guessing the wall thickness of your hollow forms or accidentally going through the side!

This vessel can also be made from straight grained or curly wood, and we’ll talk about how the grain direction affects how the wood cuts.

I love this fiery color scheme, using my favorite penetrating dye technique! Use your own color combinations for a unique look.
